First week recap;

House is back, and funnier than ever. A-
Chuck was pretty good, but a little too lovey-dovey. B
The Event was better than expected, and (for now) is the highlight of my Monday night TV. A-
Lone Star was a huge surprise, but I'm afraid it might not last long. A-
Castle returned with a very odd episode, but by the conclusion, everything was back to normal. C+
The new Hawaii Five-0 kicked major ass - everyone should be watching this show. A
Chase was awesome, but time will tell if each episode can be as exciting and fast paced as the pilot. B+

Running Wilde was the perfect blend of Arrested Development humor, and romantic sitcom. B+

Survivor is basically the same as usual. If you like the show, you'll like this season. B
JJ Abrams went in a new direction with the premiere of Undercovers, which was pretty entertaining. B-
Modern Family is as funny as ever; hopefully all those awards don't go to their heads. A-
Cougar Town picked up right where it left off, and still manages to pull off a cute and quirky sitcom. B+

The Big Bang Theory continues to be hystarical, despite the live audience laugh track that I usually detest. A-
Bones managed to reboot itself in a small way, and by the end, things were business as usual. That's a good thing. B+
Community was a laugh-a-minute, just like last season. Alison Brie needs to show more cleavage. B+
The new season of The Office was a huge letdown. If this "humor" doesn't pick up, this might be my last season. C-
30 Rock was also disappointing, but not terrible. NBC comedy Thursday is hurting. C
Newcomer Outsourced was decent for a pilot comedy, but I wasn't blown away. Needs more Parks & Recs. C
The new season of Fringe was, in a word, epic. Anna Torv just might be the greatest female actress on TV. A

I thought Hawaii Five-O was completely bland. I'd give it a C.
The Event actually held my interest well. Will this be the cure for Lost?
I'd also give Detroit 1 8 7 a C.
Running Wilde deserves an A. It also deserves all the fan support that Arrested Development never got.

I agree with everything else Dex said.

Bland? That's strange, I thought it was fresh and original, unlike anything else on TV right now. What exactly about it did you consider "bland"?

Goddamnit I really hate FOX sometimes.

Lone Star has been officially canceled.

It will be replaced starting next Monday by the new season of Lie To Me (originally scheduled to begin airing in November).

Wow, that was fast. Guess even the little trick of having House run 3 minutes into the next hour didn't help the ratings. Oh well, I've grown used to the capricious whims of FOX, and while Lone Star was interesting, it wasn't something I was looking forward to from the beginning of this new season. And apparently, I wasn't alone in that feeling.

Oh, and Old...I don't know how you can't like Hawaii 5-0, it's one of my fave new shows. Has life in Meeechigan destroyed your ability to have fun?

I just didn't find anything original or inspiring about Hawaii Five 0. It's a typical cop show with a typical story and uncovering typical plot elements. I found myself unintentionally surfing the internet while watching the show because it just wasn't anything riveting.

Honestly, that could have been a Dark Blue episode to me.

^^^ What is this I don't even
I'm guessing you're trying to say I watch too much TV? If you add all those shows up, it's 15 hours. However, a 1 hour show, minus commercials, is only 44-45 minutes long. Thanks to google calculator, 15 x 44 minutes = 11 hours. 11 hours of TV over the course of a 7 day week is less than 1.6 hours a day. Lets make it an even 2 hours a day. Bite me.

Old - I guess I'd think it was bland too, if I didn't pay attention to it. You better go outside with your shotgun again, I think those Asian kids are on your lawn.

They said that Lonestar lost 40% of House's audience. Considering how much they promoted it, I'm not surprised they pulled the plug on it so fast.

I hate Jon Voight...he creeps me out. The premise of an anti-hero, according to TV Guide, is just not something network television execs are ever comfortable with (Sopranos, Shield, etc - all thrive on Cable channels).

What sucks was I actually enjoyed the first episode. Now why would I bother even watching the second one? At least it means Lie to Me is on sooner. Monica Raymund is unbelievably hot. :)

FYI - Week 2 of The Event held up the momentum in my opinion.

Can Chuck get rid of Jeff and Lester already? I've finally grown to accept Morgan...but the scenes with Jeff and Lester are the most tedious.

I'm just jealous.

I simply don't have the mental capabilities to keep track of and still enjoy so many shows. I watch like 5 shows religiously, I think thats the most I can handle.

Means more time for porn anyways.

It takes commitment to absorb as much TV as Dex and I do. It's not just a hobby; it's a passion!

I watch TV to give my dick a rest. If I watched any less TV, I would have fapped myself to death long ago.

The third Episode of Hawaii Five-O was much, much better. I started to care about the characters' backstories plus it also firmly set it's tone as lighthearted cop show.

Kono and Chin being involved with a story with their cousin was a great hook to tie the story in and consequently make you care about the importance of family to them.

I'm still not caring that much for Alex O'Loughlin's character much, but the little bit at the very end sucked me in where Chin reiterated that not only did he know his dad, but that they enjoyed watching Alex's character, Steve, during his football games.
