I'm looking for any recommendations on something new/different to start reading... not looking for something with tons of back history(i get enough of that from the marvel and dc universes), just some really good, intriguing reads.

For example, I just read the 22 issue run(to date) of Planetary. Amazing stuff. I also picked up the first issue of JMS' new icon book at marvel -- Dream Police. Highly recommend it.

I'm in the middle of one right now -- unless a book absolutely blows me away, I seem to take forever to get through 'em... comics, however, I seem to have a never ceasing appetite for...

walking dead is green acres crossed with the 2004 dawn of the dead hack job.

OVERrated.

step number one:skip superheroes. buy a sandman comp book, or some classic like maus or stray bullets. or heavy liquid or 100%.

I think I'm gonna give Invincible a shot. Along with ExMachina and Jack Cross.
