I just wanted to declare that I have achieved the craziest DVD watching milestone even for a crazy moviephile like me.

3 days. Seasons 1 and 2 of 24 in two seatings. a 3-hr break once for ZzZ.

Verdict: Seasons 1 and 2 of 24 are outstanding with season 2 being the more engaging and suspense filled.

I will now go away for my MRI and come back later for an in depth discussion of Jack Bauer and the internal dramatic politics of 24.

I feel ill now.

P.S Mia Kirshner is SoooooooOOoooo hot.

To be honest, I haven't watched 24. The premise of the show taking place in 'real time' is fascinating, but I just can't suspend my belief that much. Yeah, yeah - I'm probably missing out on God's gift to television.

For instance, if the show takes place in real time then why isn't Jack Bauer stuck in traffic for an hour or two at a time? Even if he was to fly someplace, like across the country, that would still be a five hour flight. When I used to work in the District and then in Bethesda my total commute time for the day was 4 hours.

I bet that would make for riveting television.

'Look! Jack Bauer is changing radio stations!' or 'OMG! Did you see that road rage?!' or 'Did you see him stand on the Metro platform for 45 minutes because there was a train malfunction?'.

Or maybe I'm just jealous because he ** can ** squeeze so much into a 24 hour period and I'm just a lazy ass.

I realized that I've become a hardened Washingtonian when I noticed that I became enraged that some poor slob couldn't pick a different suicide method instead of jumping in front of the Metro during rush hour. And don't talk to me about the jumpers on the Wilson bridge! :P
